What's: PCMCIA
PCMCIA is a plug-in card system for notebooks, comparable to
PCI slots of desktop computers. The PCMCIA enhancement port can be used for modem or
network cards, or a SCSI controller card.
These cards resemble thick telephone cards and are positioned into the port with easy pressure until they snap. As the card is recognized right away in most cases, the according
drivers are installed automatically.
