A computer virus is a small program which is able to spread itself and causes sometimes serious damage on the computer. If the computer is once infected by a virus, e.g. via an e-mail attachment or a file downloaded from the internet, it spreads very quickly.

Possibilities to spread are mail programs like the "I Love You" virus made use of, or by infecting every saved file.

The only reliable protection is regularly updated anti-virus software, such as "Norton Anti Virus".
