Comp Crash, Cant Access harddrive anymore

To solve annoying Windows errors, you might want to try a Windows Registry Check. In most cases, optimizing the Windows registry will speed up your Windows.

Comp Crash, Cant Access harddrive anymore

Hello

I just had an major comp crash. Wasnt a virus for sure, but my Reg Defrag somehow f***ed it up. Luckily i just made an Image two days before with Acronis. But as i didnt had any empty CD i couldn`t do a Bootdisc.

So here is what i did. I first run Windows setup, formatted drive C, installed windows new, right after launched Acronis put the image back and everything seems fine. But, and here is the problem

After my reinstall of Windows (the problem occured even before using Acronis). I cant access my C or D drive using My Comp anymore (C: and D: is one disc). And always get the message "Access denied". My E (second harddrive) has no problems.
But besides this i can access C and D using e.g Speedcommander or other Explorers, without any problems. Also all my programms stored on C and D open and run without any problems. But as soon as I want to open C or D using My Comp, i cant get access.
Also when i use a shortcut e.g Documents (which folder is on D), Windows explorer opens the folder without any problem.
But when i open My Comp, and try to double-click on D, i get "Access denied". And when i use My Comp and use the Scrolldown menu to go to drive D it goes there straight away. Also no problem.
Why i cant get access anymore by clicking on the D or C drive icon in My Comp. Every other method works just fine.
What should i do?

Thanks for every advice

It seems that you have wrong permission / ownership settings on your harddrive. Try this: Start the computer in safe mode as administrator and changee the ownership settings of the harddrive and/or its folders.

How:

tried it, couple of times. forward and backwards. didnt help.
sometimes i even get the message "Access denied" after running through the whole file changing.
but even when it runs through, i still have the same problem.

Which folders are not accessible anymore? Maybe it would help to copy the data with a bootdisk (or knoppix) to a working partition and formatting the other one?

Its C and D. The first folder when u open My Computer.

But its not that they dont "really" work. When i directly click on them in My Comp, it get "Access denied"
When i use the Scrolldown-menu in My Computer, i can access them without a problem, as with any other Explorer e.g Speedcommander, Totalcommander,....

Its really wired. And i dont find the clue why and how this happened. But it must be connected with my Registry clean and install of Acronis. Cuz on my other machine, i also installed Acronis, made a registry clean after, and the same thing happened.
