I downloaded dosbox, a computerprogram which allows you to play oldtime dos-games on windows and everything was working as it should, but then somehow I utterly, mysteriously and .....ically screwed up and now all my executable files are automatically opened by dosbox, or rather, dosbox fails to open them. This entails me being unable to run basically any program anymore on my pc. I checked the control panel -> default programs -> set associations list to see whether the .exe extension was linked to the dosbox program, but it isn't even mentioned in that extensions list. How can I solve this crippling problem without opening a .exe file (that includes, as far as i know, a system restore) ?
I would think try to deinstall dosbox? It's probably set now to open any .exe files (all those files are probably associated with dosbox).
The program is nice to play old games on, but the problem is that it doesn't always work as it should, and you need some understanding of it to make it work properly.
