IRQL_NOT_OR_LESS_EQUAL

what is this error i see it on my laptop

There should be a stop message also. That could be helpful to find out the reason.

when i switch the laptop on this comes up after the initial black screen which has the usual ms-dos stuff on
so i cant wipe out the pc or take it on the internet once i put it one the blue screen with the error comes on imideatly

If you wanno wipe out the pc you have to go into the BIOS to change the boot order. Therefore you have to press F1 or DEL (or whatelse is written onto the screen).

You could try to repair XP with the Install CD.

try to download same driver from other server. maybe released driver on the bad server is damaged.

I had the same problem, I downloaded the Realtek Audio driver from other server, then I got no bluescreen anymore!
