didn't happen after a reinstall. from the looks of it, system is working fine. motherboard drivers came pre-installed with purchase of machine, since then I haven't reinstalled but might have 'updated' windows drivers. driver for graphics card = same came pre-installed, I haven't manually updated or reinstalled them.
now the drive read a content-filled cd (not a 'content-filled' dvd) but started slowing read speed a lot. however, when I insert a blankdvd in drive bay and push in into it's slot, the system reads it as blankdvd and indeed iindicates it is blank by showing up in contents of 'my computer'.
please help for a workaround, or suggest any new and better dvd drives for laptops. thanks a lot.
