I have recently installed win xp HE serv pack 2 on a laptop with mobo ULI EV4873.
The sound is ULi/ALi M5461 High Definition Audio Controller PCI and the driver is version  5.10.0.5125 dated 05/04/2005. Device manager shows drivers as installed correctly however there is no sound.

The properties of sound in Control Panel show no audio device. Can anyone help? PLEASE. This is driving me nuts.

1. Step:
Install Windows XP Service Pack 3. You can faster Download this Version from Microsoft -> Windows XP Service Pack 3 [url=http://www.computerhilfen.com/explanation-n-Network.html]Network Installation Package[/url]

2. Step:
Go to Windowsupdate and install all open Updates

3. Step:
Reinstall the driver.
