external hard disk question

« on: 16.11.06, 14:14:22 »

Hey, I bought an external hard disk (Trekstor), quite big, 300GB. Now I'm wondering if it makes sense to divide it into several partitions? I'm using it for videomaterial mainly.

It depens on your methods you use to work. Do you have many programs installed on your hard disk? How many gigabyte are used yet.

Hi there |

If you're using your Drive just for Video stuff, you'd better setup only one partition, since video data (especially raw material) can become extremely large. Several partitions could be cumbersome in this case.

cheers Cool
