Dual core processor?

Hi everyone,

I was wondering... was is the actual benefit of having a dual core processor??? It is faster in general or only better at multitasking?

They're faster in general, since they have processor cores. Really nice for gaming and graphic programs Smiley But ofcourse also for other stuff.

You can see at speed statistics, that a dual core cpu is faster then a single core cpu, because it can process more small task-chunks at the sime time (2 cores doing the work Smiley )

It shows faster processing power on cpu-intense tasks like photo- or videoediting. But of course, high-speed cpus are also needed to run Vista or open a new Word 2007 document...  Wink
