Real Problem with my Games

« on: 12.08.07, 22:12:10 »

hello there,

ive got a real big problem with my PC...like when i play the game "prey" after a while(it differs) i get strange graficglitches like this here:

it gets even worse, the textures grow up like needles, everything is blinking and a lot of these black and other color points are showing up, i get the same thing when i play "titan quest" but games with not so much power like "kotor 2" or "world of warcraft" are playing well...

no comes the funny thing to climax all that shit: first i thought its my VGA (geforce 7800 gs (AGP)) so i gave it back for a new one...then after a while again this shit...so its now my 3rd model of this graphiccard, so it can,t be my VGA even so my RAM, its new too and the problem was still with the older one...so the last thing whats left is my mainboard or my processorunit. thats what i wanted to ask, is this possible that maybe my mainboard is .....ed up or my processor?

sorry for my bad school english iam from germany and i hope i get an answer:)

here are some stats of my pc:
system: windows xp
processor:AMD athlon 64 x2 dual core processor 3800+
2,01GHz
RAM: 1,00GB RAM
VGA: geforce 7800 gs 265 512
mainboard: AM2NF3-VSA/A/ASR

hello, is your pc overclocked? I would check your system temps, if you have nvidia motherboard you could use the ntune system monitor to check system, cpu and graphics temps, also make sure you are using the most up to date video card and chipset drivers.

Sounds strange, but maybe (overclocked or not) it gets too hot inside the PC after a while of playing these games, which might cause that strange behaviour? You could test it with open pc a cooled with a ventilator (not too fast and not to close!!!).
