To solve annoying Windows errors, you might want to try a Windows Registry Check. In most cases, optimizing the Windows registry will speed up your Windows.
I´m running video editing software on my somewhat dinosaur of a computer, Fujitsu Siemens Scaleo 600 p. I have upgraded pretty much all I can except the CPU, which is a P 4 2.53Ghz. 478 socket The system is not able to handle the footage from my EX3 XDCAMEX..........(very juttery playback) My question is, what options do I have as far as upgrading the CPU is concerned, what will the motherboard be able to handle?
I know that the best option is to get a new computer with more power, but I pretty much need a quick fix for the DINO, while I scrounge the cash together for a new setup
Socket 478 is quite old, and there's no thrilling CPUs available for it. Best I was able to find is a Intel Pentium 4 - 3.4 GHz - but that one was quite expensive (more than 80 Euros).
I don't think you have any good chance of upgrading the CPU of your computer without adding a new motherboard as well.
in most cases you are not able to upgrade an OEM computer like the Fujitsu. one can test it, but there´s no guarantee that it will work
the problem is : if you don´t know the processor compatibility list of your motherboard, the new CPU maybe won´t work
by the way the fastest socket 478 CPU that you can buy new is a pentium 4 3 Ghz. other possibility would be a second-hand processor. but as I say, you don´t know if it works
