notebook logs off itself
To solve annoying Windows errors, you might want to try a Windows Registry Check. In most cases, optimizing the Windows registry will speed up your Windows.
Hi, I think I might have a virus on my system... I use Win XP and own an Acer TravelMate Notebook.
Everytime I try to log in to my notebook it logs off itself and shuts down. It's like this since yesterday and I didnt do anything special like installing new stuff...
What can I do about it? Is it a virus? Or a Hard drive problem? I am afraid to loose all my data, please help.
Do you know Knoppix? Its a free linux system, that can be downloaded and burnt on cd. With this CD you can try to start your pc / laptop from the disk - so you can check, if the laptop still workd (the hardware is still ok).
If it does, you can try to access your harddisk. If that works without errors, maybe your Windows is broken and should try a Windows repair install (Start the with your Windows CD and choose repairing). You can do this also without trying to boot with Knoppix, but then you can at least save / backup data to be sure not to loose it.
