dvd drive of my MSI laptop doesn't work, driver problem

Hito all!
I encountered a problem unabling me to use the dvd drive of my MSI laptop..

windows read" cannot load the device driver for this hardware. the driver maybe corrupted or missing (code 39).

how do i solve this? help please, anyone.

Is the device marked with a yellow questionmark in the device manager? Then you could try to reinstall the driver (right-click on the device should give you that option). You don't need a special driver, the ones shipped with Windows are perfectly OK (should be found automatically).
Otherwise you might want to try a system restore (like this: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/helpandsupport/learnmore/systemrestore.mspx) using a restore point from a time when everything worked well.
