is there a way to lock my computer, (http://www.computerhilfen.de/fachbegriffe-c-Computer.html) so that no one can use it when I am away from it? But please without shutting it down completely, Win XP takes so long to start on my PC :( thanks! Red5 Title: Re: Locking my computer (Windows XP)? Post by: nico on 10.11.06, 13:28:55 Hi! you could try a screen (http://www.computerhilfen.de/fachbegriffe-s-Screen.html) saver with a password protection: As soon as the screensaver starts, you need you password to get back to windows. (http://www.computerhilfen.de/fachbegriffe-w-Windows.html) I use this to secure my apple (http://www.computerhilfen.de/fachbegriffe-a-Apple.html) :-)
You can also try it with "Windows Key + L". Then, a login-screen appears and you cannot continue, until you login with your windows (http://www.computerhilfen.de/fachbegriffe-w-Windows.html) username and password. Therefore of course, you'll need to have set a password in your user settings. nico
