my cd rom drive doesnt work properly anymore. It doesnt open until I click like 10 times. I have an acer notebook (almost 3 yrs old) and win XP. But when also the drive doesn't react to "opening", it seems to be a hardware failure.
Can you open the drive when clicking the "open" menu-entry in the Windows "System" panel on the cd drive? Title: Re: cd rom drive doesnt open Post by: Shan on 08.10.07, 13:24:18 there should be a hole under the cd tray put a pointed object in the hole and it will release and open hope it helps ;)
