Title: tv-card Post by: Tommie on 19.02.07, 17:14:29 I don't have a television at home, but I do have a tv-cable connection. I heard that I can watch television on my computer, if I have a tv-card in there.
Is this true? And can i also record programs on my computer with such a tv card? And which brand should I buy, or what kind of things should I look at when buying one? And last but not least, how much should I spend cause i've looked a bit already, and saw alot of priceranges. Thank you for reading :) Title: Re: tv-card Post by: nico on 19.02.07, 20:13:23 I'd recommend a "Hauppauge WinTV" card, I myself had two of them. You can choose for a PCI model (a card to be inserted in the computer - first check if you have enough free PCI-Slots) or an USB card. Thats easy just to be plugged into the USB port. Its totally easy to "install" - just the driver disc and plugging in the cable.
You then can not only watch TV, also record it. But i had problems to record large pieces because of the large filesize of the movies. And my (old!) card could max. record videos in 352x288 - which is only half of the DVD resolution. Title: Re: tv-card Post by: Tommie on 28.02.07, 11:54:41 Thanks man! How much money do you think I should spend on it?
