Computerhilfen.com: Win XP startup problem

Hi, every time I switch on my computer it switches itself off as soon as it starts to check the memory. It makes this sound, a high beep and then a low one... really annoying. Maybe overheating?

if u´ve got more than one memory blocks, try to put one off your mainboard and start your computer again, maybe one of ´em is broken, or doesn´t work correctly.
