Title: Dual core processor? Post by: willie billie on 24.04.07, 16:03:09 Hi everyone,
I was wondering... was is the actual benefit of having a dual core processor??? It is faster in general or only better at multitasking? thanks & bye bye Title: Re: Dual core processor? Post by: nico on 26.04.07, 00:50:09 You can see at speed statistics, that a dual core cpu (http://www.computerhilfen.de/fachbegriffe-c-CPU.html) is faster then a single core cpu, (http://www.computerhilfen.de/fachbegriffe-c-CPU.html) because it can process more small task-chunks at the sime time (2 cores doing the work :) )
Speed example: (http://reviews.zdnet.co.uk/i/z/rv/2005/05/amd-dc-b1.gif) (http://reviews.zdnet.co.uk/hardware/components/0,1000001694,39197754,00.htm) It shows faster processing power on cpu-intense tasks like photo- or videoediting. But of course, high-speed cpus are also needed to run Vista or open a new Word 2007 document... ;)
