The Core 2 Duo should be the better choice at the moment.

Yes, like Jossif told you, take the Core 2 Duo, due to its better core architecture for video editing.

I give a little advice ; wait a litte bit, the prices for the Core 2 Duo, incl. the Quad Cores will tumble down, for example for the Quad Core 6600 : 266 euros ( the price is for the 22th July 2007 ) ;)

Depends what you want to do with your computer. For gaming, editing and graphical stuff the intel is the better choice, but for just normal internetuse, word, excel and things like that, the amd is the better choice according to tests.

@ Deborah : At the moment Intel is the better choice for any application : office or gaming, intel is faster than the AMD CPU´s ;)
