Computerhilfen.com: 5MP Chip on digital camera

I ordered a digital camera off line for my daughter and it comes with a chip that has 5MP on it. Is that to save the pictures if so about how many before it starts to delete pictures 

5 MP is just the resolution of the chip: the more MP (Mega Pixel) (http://www.computerhilfen.com/explanation-p-Pixel.html) the larger your pictures become and the more details can be seen. You need to put additional storage-cards inside the camera to save your images.
