Computerhilfen.com: HELP - XP with Gigabyte nVidia GTX260

HELP - XP with Gigabyte (http://www.computerhilfen.com/explanation-g-Gigabyte.html) nVidia GTX260

Good morning,

I have an nVidia GTX260 and I just reinstalled the harddisk with XP. Now after I installed the official drivers of nVidia, my system starts with a resolution of 640x480 (VGA). When I choose 1920x1200, the system does not make any changes.
I deinstalled the graphic card driver (http://www.computerhilfen.com/explanation-d-Driver.html) and installed the drivers of Gigabyte (http://www.computerhilfen.com/explanation-g-Gigabyte.html) - no success.  ???
It never happened before.
The card is brand new and it worked before.  :(

Please help me :'(

I will try that - but I am not at home right now.
the latest NVIDIA driver (http://www.computerhilfen.com/explanation-d-Driver.html) I used.
My colleagues here don't know, too.
Maybe I will reinstall the system.

After reinstalling XP, have you also install all the drivers for your mainboard (http://www.computerhilfen.com/explanation-m-Mainboard.html) ?
If not, then see at the manufactur webside for the drivers, before ! installing the nvidia driver. (http://www.computerhilfen.com/explanation-d-Driver.html)

I will visit the ASUS Homepage, thanks.I installed every tool on the CD of ASUS.
I will check that.

Please check under system in your device manager for errors from unknown devices

That was the first part I checked.
No unknown devices or devices with errors....

Fine - then try the nvidia driver (http://www.computerhilfen.com/explanation-d-Driver.html)

Nothing helped. I reinstalled my XO.
Now it works....

Maybe wrong sequence during the mainboard (http://www.computerhilfen.com/explanation-m-Mainboard.html) driver (http://www.computerhilfen.com/explanation-d-Driver.html) installation.
AGP driver, (http://www.computerhilfen.com/explanation-d-Driver.html) before chipset driver (http://www.computerhilfen.com/explanation-d-Driver.html) ? Whatever - it works  :)
