The lower area of youtube videos is intented to be used for advertisement in the future. Google is already planning the sale of this ad space with selected clients. The advertisment will only be present in videos from media companies cooperating with Google.

Transparent flash banners will be faded into the video for a few seconds. It can also be closed immediately. This way, the advertisement shall not disturb the user too much. If the user clicks on the ad, the video stops and the advertisement starts playing.
