Switch American/English keyboard to another language

28th Jan 09 at 05:52 pm. Trackback

Sometimes the keyboard layout is changed without wanting. Instead of having the English layout, suddenly for example the German layout is used, or even another one.

To get the layout switched back to what it should be, go to the taskbar in Windows. On the right down side there should be a language like ‘EN’ or ‘DE’. The layout can be either switched here, or by pressing ‘ALT’ and ‘SHIFT’ at the same time.

In the menu on the rightdownside of the taskbar it is easy to change the language of the keyboard. If you cannot find this menu, and the ‘ALT SHIFT’ trick doesn’t work, alternatively going to START-> Control panel -> Region and language and then selecting the language under languages/details might help.
