Vista sales lower than XP in the beginning

Windows XP was more successful than the Vista in the beginning, according to sales figures of the boxed version in the first week. Windows Vista is on sale for private users since January 30th. The sales are nearly 59% less than the sales of Windows XP says market research firm NPD on ZD Net Asia.

The NPD report include sales data from retailers such as Amazon.com, Best Buy, Circuit City, CompUSA, Kmart, Office Depot, OfficeMax, Staples and Target. In the report seven days beginning from January 28th 2007 for Vista are mentioned and also the seven days from October 21th 2001 for Windows XP, says ZD Net.
