24 hours offline: Shutdown Day in March

In about a month, your computer will be switched off for 24 hours. This is at least the idea of the initiative “Shutdown Day”. The chosen day is March 24th. The participants are intended to find out if they are able to live without the computer for one day. Until now, more than 18.000 people worldwide decided to take part.
March 24th is a Saturday. If it was a regular working day it would hardly be possible to get along without a computer. In this offline self experiment, users are encourages to go out into nature once again or spend some precious time with friends.
Denis Bystrov and Michael Tylor, who organised the Shutdown Day, are surprised by the positive feedback: 90% of all the reactions were positive. On the webpage of Shutdown Day you have the possibility to state if you are going to take part or not. And additionally, what you plan to do in your free time. (vck)
